Artist’s Statement
When people describe my paintings as “out of this world,” I’m always struck by their intuition. How can they know that the inspiration for my art comes at me like a comet? Can they hear, like I do, the thunder of a butterfly’s wings?
My journey from white canvas to vibrant vision begins with openness. Like a river seeking the sea, energy flows through me. I have a deep reverence for connectedness, and often feel like my paintings create me. I complete each one with a changed heart – my starting point for the next one. This beautiful circle has no beginning or end.
Just as I have channeled spiritual messages from places beyond, I receive divine inspiration each time I pick up a brush (or sometimes, a more unconventional tool). It’s a grace that comes from a place I call “the light behind the darkness” – and I want to bring every soul who looks at my art into that light.
Creating art is my joy, but that joy soars when it is seen. For me, the moment my painting is placed on a wall, it becomes a mirror, and that’s magical. Sometimes it feels like I’m painting with stardust.
